Scholarships

We are thrilled to offer up to $5,500 through four scholarships in 2024.
Applicants should be familiar with the details of our scholarship opportunities before applying.

Essay

One $2,500+ Scholarship
The Nickelson Family is offering one $2,500 (or more) scholarship to a California high school or college student that submits an essay, discussing one (or more) of the following:
the separation of church and state, being good without religion, living in a secular society, Christian nationalism, or religious bigotry.
Essays must be submitted by June 30, 11:59 PM PT, of the current year.

Five $100 Scholarships
We are offering scholarships ($100 each) to five United States students that write a limerick, based on our theme:
Democracy, Not Theocracy
Limericks must be shared by August 31, 11:59 PM PT, of the current year.

We are offering one $1,000 scholarship to a California high school student that submits a written speech with your ideas on:
How we can protect our democracy from becoming a theocracy and unite against religious bigotry.
